This week is all about our stud welding line that has been set-up for one of our large national data center prefabrication jobs.  The process starts by shearing the strut to the indicated length, then the dimensions are marked for where the studs get welded on.  The welder lines up a jig on the vertical mark which then perfectly places the horizontal location on the strut.  With some minor clean-up and a quick spray of cold galv. to prevent oxidation, these studs are then used to attach 1900 boxes and mini’s to secure the conduit for lighting fixtures.  The crew is a well-oiled machine having built thousands of these over the past year.
